The process

Before, preparation, during, finished

01

Before

The client had a large mirror removed from a bold red feature wall, which left the surface damaged and uneven behind it. The brief was to make the wall good and bring the deep red back to a single, seamless finish with no trace of the repair.

02

Preparation

The damaged area was patched and a topping coat applied to rebuild the surface, then sanded back flat and true. The repair and surrounding wall were spot-primed and undercoated so the strong red would sit even and not flash or show the patch through the colour.

03

During

The feature wall was brought back in multiple finish coats, working the deep red up to a consistent, rich density across the whole wall rather than just over the repair, so the colour reads as one piece.

04

Finished

A seamless red feature wall with no sign of where the mirror or the damage had been. Even colour, clean edges and a finish that looks original.
